Further, fintech firms are actively working to acquire bank charters to offer deposit insurance, operate across state lines, and secure low cost funding sources.

Join us to hear a panel of seasoned banking and fintech professionals discuss the evolution of fintech and its role in the future of community banking. They’ll cover trends in the fintech space and how community banks are working effectively with fintech entities to increase shareholder value. Further, the panel will explore the competition-related challenges community banks face in working with fintech entities—and steps to help you navigate them.

Daniel Wheeler, General Counsel , Cred, and Co-Founder, Fintech Bank

Daniel is the general counsel for Cred, a company on its way to being the leading global cryptocurrency lender. Prior to Cred, Dan was a banking and fintech regulatory partner in the Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner law firm. For 22 years, he has advised banks, crypto and blockchain companies, financial technology companies, credit unions, and other financial institutions. Dan specializes in helping clients innovate, including the design and upgrade of consumer and commercial financial products and business lines. He has helped clients solve significant regulatory challenges, involving intervention and advocacy with the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, NCUA, CFPB and state financial regulators, as well as negotiation of enforcement actions.

Tullus Miller, Partner and Group Leader, Financial Services Practice, Moss Adams

Tullus has more than 20 years of experience primarily serving commercial loan and banking organizations, credit unions, mortgage banking companies, and other specialty lenders and investment partnerships and companies. The services he provides clients include financial statement audits, SEC filings and registration statements, internal control evaluations, initial acquisition audits, derivatives, securitization accounting, and merger and acquisition consulting.

Stephane Lintner, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Jiko Securities

Stephane is the CEO and co-founder of Jiko. Prior to founding the company, he was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs & Co, operating as a senior strategist on the Equities Trading Floor where he modernized various businesses across the floor, including exotic derivatives to ETFs, swaps, and other products. During his career he led a number of cross-divisional and international efforts, always leveraging technology and finding synergies to modernize the bank. He graduated from Caltech with a PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics. He also holds degrees in Machine Learning and Computer Science from the Ecole Normale Superieure in France.

Eric M. Sprink, President and Chief Executive Officer, Coastal Community Bank and Coastal Financial

Eric serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Community Bank and Coastal Financial Corporation. Community is the bank’s middle name, but the bank is openly changing the rules of what that means. In addition to meeting the needs of its business clients, Coastal is delivering wholesale banking or Banking as a Service to Fintechs, capitalizing on the strong relationship culture built on top of a strong compliance backbone. Because of the relationships the bank has built with Fintechs, Eric is a frequent speaker and advocate for bank/Fintech partnerships. He has worked closely with a number of regulatory bodies as the banking industry evolves and faces disruption.
