SEATTLE, June 24, 2014 – Moss Adams LLP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, today announced a planned leadership transition in its Financial Services Group. Tullus Miller has taken over as the firm’s Financial Services Group leader, and Jeff Green is now the national practice leader for financial institutions. Both succeed John Hancock, who is retiring from the firm after 34 years of service. Hancock previously held both of these titles and will continue to play an advisory role through the end of 2014.
Charged with leading the firm’s Financial Services Group, Miller will oversee more than 150 professionals who span three national practice areas: broker-dealers, financial institutions, and financial services. The group provides tailored accounting and consulting solutions to clients across the industry, including insured depository institutions, mortgage and specialty finance companies, registered investment advisors, asset management companies, and a wide range of private alternative investment funds.
Green will lead the national Financial Institutions Practice, which serves more than 300 insured depository institutions—including de novo banks, credit unions, and publicly traded organizations—with assets in excess of $22 billion. The national Financial Institutions Practice offers a wide array of consulting, assurance, and tax services, including regulatory compliance, M&A consulting, tax structuring, strategic planning, and risk management.
“I’m excited for this next phase in the practice and my career generally, and I know this transition will continue to propel the group in a positive direction,” said Hancock. “I’ve worked closely with Jeff and Tullus over the years and have no doubt they will uphold the Moss Adams commitment to quality and growth.”
Miller, an industry veteran with 25 years of experience, specializes in leading financial statement audits, internal control evaluations, derivatives, securities and capital markets, and securitization accounting, and he primarily serves commercial banking organizations, credit unions, mortgage banking companies, and other specialty lenders and investment companies. In addition to his new role, Miller will continue to lead the national Financial Services Practice, one of the practice areas that makes up the Financial Services Group.
“For more than 30 years, Moss Adams has partnered with financial services companies to help them navigate their complex and ever-changing accounting and regulatory environment,” Miller said. “I am honored to lead the firm’s Financial Services Group and to continue driving the group through its next phase of establishing a national presence.”
Since joining Moss Adams, Green has gained extensive experience with community banks, HUD reporting, mutual to stock conversions, start-up banks, M&A consulting, stock-based compensation, and SEC filings and registration statements. He is currently the partner in charge of the Everett office, a role he will continue to play. Green is actively involved in a number of industry associations, including Western Independent Bankers, the Washington Bankers Association, and Community Bankers of Washington.
“This is an exciting time for the Financial Institutions Practice, so I am honored to take on this role,” Green said. “Tullus and I are committed to furthering the firm’s recognition as a national leader in tax, accounting, and consulting for the financial services industry.”
