CAMPBELL, Calif., Nov. 23, 2015—Moss Adams LLP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, today announced the addition of partner Mei Xu to its Silicon Valley office. Xu will provide clients with a range of tax- and transaction-related services, including those surrounding international reporting, FIN 48, special-purpose vehicles and renminbi (RMB) funds, and partnership structuring and terms.
“The number and caliber of venture capital funds, private equity firms, and start-ups in the Silicon Valley region is unique, as is the number of businesses here that also operate internationally,” Xu said. “As someone who’s previously worked through these kinds of transactions and challenges firsthand, I’m particularly excited to get to know these clients and help them succeed.”
Xu formerly served as a director in the venture capital and corporate tax group at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she gained experience in international tax jurisdictions including China, Hong Kong, India, Mauritius, Israel, Brazil and Singapore. She also held a position as the chief financial officer of the Halo Fund—a venture capital fund specializing in early-stage technology and medical device companies—and its management company, the Angels’ Forum.
“Moss Adams provides business solutions to a wide variety of clients, many of them with highly specialized tax, assurance and international needs,” said Ty Pforsich, regional managing partner of the firm’s Bay Area operations. “Mei’s breadth of experience across these areas makes her especially valuable to our clients.”
A certified public accountant since 1996, Xu is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and CalCPA.
