Moss Adams is honored with award for innovation in women’s programming

American Women’s Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) recognizes firm for GroWth Series

SEATTLE, Nov. 17, 2016—Moss Adams LLP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, today announced that the AWSCPA is recognizing the firm’s GroWth series with the 2016 Innovation in Women’s Programming Award.

The award recognizes businesses that are continually developing new, innovative programs to promote and support advancement of women in the accounting profession. Designed to increase the number of women partners, the Moss Adams GroWth series targets high-potential senior managers and helps them establish the building blocks they’ll need to succeed—developing their brand, creating high-performing teams and building out their business networks.

“There is no question regarding the benefit for organizations to have a more even representation of women, particularly in leadership roles,” said Jen Wyne, executive director of Human Resources at Moss Adams. “The gender balance of the entire business world is shifting, and women are increasingly the leaders and owners of the organizations we serve. It’s up to us to reflect that diversity.”

The GroWth series is an extension of the firm’s Forum W program that was launched in 2008 with the mission to attract, develop, retain and advance talented women at Moss Adams. Women have historically been underrepresented at top levels of the accounting profession, and Forum W is one way Moss Adams is changing that.

“Women now represent over half of our talent base and we continue to see higher numbers of talented women reach the top levels at our firm since we launched Forum W,” said Chris Schmidt, chairman and CEO of Moss Adams. “This allows us to have a stronger connection with our diverse client base and, in effect, a competitive advantage in the marketplace.”

The 2016 Innovation in Women’s Programming Award follows on the heels of other recognition this year, including:
