Client Background
A private medical device company with over 200 employees developing and manufacturing personal diagnostic tools.
The Situation
Looking to commercialize a product, they were being held back by an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that wasn’t agile, efficient, or timely. Data entry and reporting were cumbersome and repetitive. The reporting functionality available was not Life Sciences specific, so insights were generic.
The Solution & Results
A comprehensive review of their business processes was completed to understand inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Additionally, revisiting their strategic goals with them clarified system gaps that were critical to address in a new system.
Once their system requirements were fully outlined, we worked with them to evaluate various systems through RFPs and vendor demonstrations to determine which would best serve them.
Ultimately, the following systems were selected to handle their unique needs:
- NetSuite: Enterprise resource planning
- Workday Adaptive Planning: Budgeting and financial forecasting
- Avalara: Automated state and local tax calculations and reporting
- Tipalti: Procurement
Moss Adams implemented NetSuite and Adaptive and supported the integration of Avalara and Tipalti to deliver the following results to the client:
- Increased visibility into reporting to enable data-driven, real-time decisions.
- Increased efficiencies through automated approval workflows
- Improved supply chain
