Marke has been consulting since 2000 in the area of state and local tax, focusing on planning and structuring transactions for public and privately held clients. He leads the firm’s specialty tax services, which includes state and local tax, international tax and transfer pricing services, cost segregation, R&D tax credits, and other credits and incentives.
As a state and local tax partner, Marke helps companies identify and implement tax planning opportunities and resolve exposure issues with respect to sales, use, gross receipts, and state income/franchise tax costs. Marke has worked with several mid- to large-sized multistate clients in a number of industries, including real estate, manufacturing, technology, retail, wholesale distribution, and financial services.
Marke has led several engagements related to audit defense, multistate tax research, M&A transaction analysis, nexus studies, tax overpayment analysis, and other tax planning. Marke also assists companies with securing ruling requests regarding state tax statutory and administrative interpretations.
He is actively involved in rule making and stakeholder representation efforts with regard to taxability of client matters in the state of Washington. Marke also serves as a mentor for students pursuing a career in the accounting field and is a former advisory board member of Forum W at Moss Adams, which promotes the attraction, development, retention, and advancement of women in the accounting industry.
